Hi, I'm Evi Wusk. I am in my sixteenth year teaching and my fourth year teaching in Sterling. This page tells a little bit about me and has links to my writing and resume on the right.
In high school I participated in sports, drama, and speech at Johnson-Brock. I placed second and fourth in Humorous Prose at the state speech competition and ran hurdles at the state track meet. I was also an NSAA Believers and Achievers award recipient. Following high school, I earned my bachelor's degree in Secondary Education-Language Arts, and my master's degree in curriculum and instruction from Peru State College. While there, I was the Editor of The Peru State Times and was on the volleyball team. In the summer, I was a camp counselor and site manager at Carol Joy Holling Camp in Ashland, and also a member of the Brownville Village Theatre, and also worked at Educational Service Unit #4 in Auburn. After Peru, I participated in the Nebraska Writing Project (state branch of the National Writing Project) and earned my doctorate in Teaching, Learning, and Teacher Education from UNL. In the summer of 2008, I married Ralph Wusk, who works for the Department of Veteran's Affairs out of Lincoln. We were married in my childhood church, St. Paul's Hickory Grove, near my family's farm between Auburn and Johnson. We now live with our kiddos, Charli and Ollie and our boxer dog in Sterling. I enjoy cooking, yoga, book club, and camping. I am thankful for the privilege of being a teacher. |
